Please see below our in-person meeting schedule. Our meetings are an excellent place to share philatelic knowledge as well as enjoy the social aspect of the Society. We host both evening and daytime meetings, particularly for members who do not wish or are unable to attend evening meetings.
Daytime meeting held on the 1st Tuesday of each month
Postal History Study Group meeting held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month
Evening meeting held on the 3rd Thursday of each month
Library Afternoon held on the last Saturday of each month
Evening meeting held on the 5th Thursday of each month
The Society meets on the third and fifth Thursday of each month except December. Refreshments are served before the meetings from 7.15 p.m. Regular meetings are to commence at 7.30 p.m. Meetings on the 5th Thursday will commence at 8 pm. Supper after the meetings enables members to exchange philatelic knowledge and enjoy friendship in a congenial atmosphere and contributes to the spirit of the Society.
The pre-Christmas meeting enhances the social aspect of the Society, being a social event to which members may invite their wives, husbands and friends.
The Society also meets on the first Tuesday of the month except November (second Tuesday) and January (no meeting) from 1.00 p.m. until 3.00 p.m. This very friendly forum is designed particularly for members who do not wish or are unable to attend the evening meetings.
The meetings are held at 7.30 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month excluding January.
Library afternoons are held on the last Saturday of each month from 2:00pm onwards (excluding December).
With the large majority of RPSV members interstate or overseas, Zoom meetings offer a connection for all members to attend many of our monthly evening meetings. The meetings that are allocated via Zoom are advertised in the RPSV monthly newsletter with a URL link to each meeting. Three or four times a year, there is a fifth Thursday in the month, and all of these meetings are offered on Zoom.
The benefits to members are easy and cost-effective access to the RPSV, especially those members who don’t reside in Melbourne or are unable to attend the meeting.
