Preparations for War and the Australian Military Campaign at Gallipoli: A Postal History Perspective, Gary Diffen

This is our first book presenting a collection from one of our members – it is the inaugural book in the new “Collectors Series”. The timing of this book is to coincide with this year’s Centenary of the Landings at Gallipoli on the 25th of April 1915.

Unlike other books on the Australian military campaign at Gallipoli, this is the first book to focus solely on the postal history of the conflict. All the items have been drawn from the author’s personal collection and have been presented in full colour and adequately described.

The wide variety of items illustrated in the book should be of broad appeal to many. Of particular interest are the many Cachets used during the Campaign and the ingenuity of the Diggers during shortages of writing materials.

This book illustrates one of the most comprehensive collections ever assembled on this subject and provides a record of our forefathers and their role at Gallipoli.

Illustrated in full colour, hard bound and 158 pages. $65 AUD
